May be stuck in NY on-off for the next few months (back-forth) and looking to choose a hotel that is approved by the office. I can choose the Palace (regular rooms, not the Tower), most of the Ws and the Essex House (Central Park - South).

Stayed in many of the Ws and they are getting a bit old/tired...and the novelty of the dark lounge lobbies is no longer there for me. Also stayed in the old Essex House (when it was a Westin). Heard it was bought by Jumeriah/Dubai. There other properties are quite good, but I wonder if the Essex has been upgraded yet. As a Westin, it was nothing to write home about.

How about Palace?
