3 in 747 F - best seating?

Guys,

I'm flying with Mrs Schofs and her mother to JFK in F on a 747 in August... It's an afternoon flight, so no sleeping.

The two ladies will take 4E/F and I was going to go for a window to the side of them... which is closest? I seem to remember from the cabin layout that 3A is closer (and more practical for chats) than 4A... am I remembering wrong?
