Crediting short haul discounted economy miles to AAdvantage
This confusing subject always brings conflicting info (including mine, in the past) so I thought I'd post some real case numbers for a recent flight:

Flight details: MAD-LHR, discounted economy, BA flight number, miles credited to AAdvantage.

Distance: 774
Mileage: 194 (25% of 774)
PLT/EXP 100% Bonus: 198 (huh? it should have been 194)
Total Available Award Mileage: 392 (194 + 198)
Elite Qualifying Points: 500 (minimum)
Elite Qualifying Miles: 500 (minimum)
