Looking at AA's schedules, it looks like you may be on the same aircraft MRY-LAX as was inbound from LAX. It looks like the late flight from LAX stays overnight and is the first flight from MRY in the morning, then AA schedules turnarounds at about half an hour--probably not too unreasonable for a small airport.

Anyway, if that's the case, then you're set, since there wouldn't be another aircraft that could leave before you arrived.
