Ok well looks like I have found some additional information in regards to lounge access posted on klm.com under partners. Slightly OT but relevant when looking at lounge access as a whole.
The following is quoting directly off the KLM/FB website.
Continental: *** Lounge access applicable when holding a same day SkyTeam-operated international flight ticket.
Delta: *** Lounge access applicable when holding a same day SkyTeam-operated flight ticket.
Northwest: *** Lounge access applicable when holding a same day SkyTeam-operated international flight ticket, or when travelling on a domestic flight with NW.
Funny each are different, however from the whole wording, I don't see anything that says access to Delta isn't authorised when flying domestic.
Also, in regards to this thread, lounge access always says SkyTeam flight, thus it would appear any skyteam operated lounge can be used regardless of carrier flown.
