I did the 1000 yen upgrade on my domestic legs last year but was by myself. If 4 seats are ava 4000 yen would be worth it for the domestic legs. Can you call and reserve J class on the domestic legs in advance? Or is it a same day option only?

We have always had outstanding service from JAL in Japan so it should be a great experience flying Intl. The flight schedules are even better then AA. We will see. Aug 3 departure, can't wait!
