Two senior federal officials said today that Washington's Reagan National Airport will remain closed indefinitely, the same day the FBI detained four people posing as pilots as they tried to board a United Airlines flight at New York's JFK International Airport.
Reagan National's close proximity to the White House and other government buildings prompted the decision to close the airport.
"I think it's clear National Airport is not going to be open for a while," one senior official said. "It won't be hours. It won't be days."
Another official said it's "going to be a long time."
