So it appears there is a bit of uncertainty between me and other flyertalk members in regards to lounge access rules on skyteam.

Some say that you can only access the lounge of the carrier you are flying with when in possession of a gold card. Whilst a plat gives access to all skyteam lounges.

Others say that gold/platinum gives access to any skyteam operated lounge (or lounge of airline flying on) as long as you are flying on a skyteam carrier.

So what is the case? I'm asking based on written rules from AF/KL and experiences you may have had in this regard.
