i travel frequently, but due to my mistake, i acquire miles separately from different airlines. doh, but one good thing is that i acquired enough miles from china airlines since i travel to asia mostly, which can be redeem for delta flight

i booked my award by calling china airlines and china airlines people booked the delta flight for me. i have the delta confirmation number that was given by china airline to check my status. now i redeem my china airlines miles to delta, however, i m in the delta waiting list. the flight is from SAN to FRA via ATL on late june departure, early july return, one person only, me. i have one confirmed flight and 3 waitlisted.

can anyone give some insight on how the mile redemption works from china airline using delta as i m using my china airline miles for my delta flight?

how do i get the other 3 flight confirmed since it's about a month and a half left? when i called delta, i asked and they have many available seats in the flight i m redeeming my miles.
what are my chances to get the other 3 confirmed? the one confirmed is from ATL to FRA
