There is enormous value in nameplates like Corvette, Mustang, Suburban, Camaro, etc. The one thing GM and Ford have that the Asian brands cannot match is heritage. Even if they became acquisition targets, which is highly unlikely owing to their size, they would command a premium price because of their legacy brands.
