Would anyone acquire GM or Ford given the huge pension liabilities these two have? I'd say they might be picked up only if all the UAW contracts and benefits have been abrogated (and I'd imagine the UAW would launch a "final strike", quite literally). The timebomb's ticking at GM which is now selling GMAC, the only profitable part of the business, for cash which it'll burns through quite quickly. A recent Forbes article mentioned that a default on GM debt could have some serious repercussions on the financial market.

Not sure how much value there is left in these two brands at any rate.
