New pseudo problem -

Based on what you have all tole me, I am pretty much narrowed down to UA and AA.

Can anyone tell me which of these two is best for upgrades on international travel?

Also, would joining one of the Lounge Programs be a good idea? It looks like time at arports has increased dramatically, so I would assume that it might not be a bad plan. But, I have no idea what they are like, I have never been in them.
