I'm currently holding exit row seats for several upcoming NW flights this way, and, of course, for more than a half-dozen AS flights.

Did you book your AS flights through alaskaair.com or nwa.com? It might make sense that NW elites could get AS metal exit rows on NW codeshares, but not on AS-coded AS metal, simply because I've read that AS does not have any way to verify NW elites' status other than by looking at your elite card. And if they can't verify your status, they can't give you exit rows unless they give exit rows to everyone with a Worldperks number.
