JL is smoke free, and has been for some time. Though I do remember that many airlines with flights to/from Japan introducing smoke free flights several years ago would retain their Japan flights with smoking sections long after other flight sectors were all smoke free. IOW, the Japan flights were the last to go "kin-en" (smoking prohibited).
