In theory, you can't pre-assign exit rows. AS doesn't even do this for their own elites. Exit rows are only available on day-of-depature check-in at the counter.

That being said, I did successfully get an agent to assign me an exit row for the return portion of a trip. I was checking in for the outbound.

The bulk heads are assignable but impossible to get.

AS's service is fine...but the upgrades are basically non-existent. I've only had luck once using an AS upgrade cert as a NW plat for a SEA-xxx flight. Any flights to SEA/PDX seem booked because AS competitively prices their F product.

Take CO if you can and play the EUA lottery.
