Seriously?!?! I didn't know AMEX were able to give BA miles away willy-nilly because of their staffing mistakes. If this is true, I'll have to come up with a couple of complaints!
Oh yes - I got 5,000 once because I chopped up my old card when my new one arrived. Sadly the covering letter failed to point out that the new card would not be valid for another four weeks - even though Amex card do not have a 'Start From' date on them, they DO have a start date encoded into the strip.
