The hotel is not far from downtown when there is no trafficejam. On New Yearsday it was appr. 15 - 20 min drive. I have heard the hotel transfers guests to the citycenter on New Years Eve. But take care, I have had many warnings that the city can be dangerous for foreigners so I did not go.

Cannot tell how long the ride to downtown will be when the horrible traffic is there.

Furthermore, the Sheraton hotel has a very central location when you want to visit different parts of town. If you insist to be downtown, I guess you better stay in f.i. the Taj Mahal hotel in the Citycenter.
