Their discount Y is about the same and this 500 fare is a highly restricted fare with limited availibilty in both dates and capacity. Why would any carrier canabalize their J class cabin to match?

For the 1000 fare, my experience on AA is that the J cabin is usually quite full anyways (my guess is corporate travel). We won't see any matching unless there is a huge dent in bookings in J or discount J.

I'd love to see it though.
