The Jet d'Eau ...

When in Geneva, do be sure to walk towards the lake in the center of town. The waterfront is nice, there are many picturesque areas on both sides of the bridge (especially the old town), and you can see the water jet (jet d'eau) giving off spouts every few minutes.

Also in the lakefront area are the piers for day trip ferries to various towns lining the lake. Lausanne is one such very picturesque town.

There are many jewelry stores in town selling brand name Swiss watches, although you should of course first check prices before leaving home. Many stores also sell cukoo clocks with an old world look, if that appeals to you.

Don't forget to buy some Swiss cheese and Swiss chocolate!
