the 1st qtr is often good for europe....i don't know about transcons, but good deals will be reported here.....

japan for $600 or so isn't bad...you might want to go to the east coast as a part of your journey...

if no fare war breaks out before, mid sept to mid nov is generally a good time.....good luck
