Not true. Trans-tasman flights with NZ are a mixture of A320 (shorthaul business class seat and DVD players), 767 (old mediumhaul business with clunky IFE), 747 (mostly new business class seat and new avod IFE) and 777 (only new business class seat and new avod IFE). Really need to keep an eye on aircraft type as there is a big difference.
