Top level airline passengers in North America left the airlines in favor of private aviation. That's something that hasn't happened in Asia much.

Which is why I thought United Airlines had the right idea with Avolar if they could combine that service with superior long haul first class and "we take care of you no questions asked" treatment, particularly to Asia. Unfortunately their employees didn't see their business that way, so now we have a race to the bottom in North America.
