If not, regardless of the arriving/departing passenger issue - surely she was your "guest" (being allowed only 1), and therefore GVA was an addition?
On a seperate note - I didn't think using a Gold Upgrade Voucher permitted access to the lounge? Given that they're not *technically* guaranteed upgrades until the gate (it's just easier for the CI agent to issue a C pass then to wait until the gate) - I don't see how they would link a GUV to lounge access as a C class passenger
