I deplore the growning trend in slightly trendy bars where your change is returned to you in a dish. The not so sublte implication seems to be that you may leave a tip. I refuse to do it out of principle. As someone else said prices for drinks are accelerating quite rapidly whilst the service remains pretty much the same.
