Tom

Working as a journalist, who has spent a few years heavily covering both domestic and foreign homeland security issues, I have been suprised at what info the FBI and US Marshals pull out of NCIC.

I found out, by chance, I was wanted on a traffic warrant in Nassau County, NY, for failure to appear on a contested parking violation in the Village of Valley Stream. The warrant was issued when I was 19, I found this out when I was 29!. The fine was $35.

The FBI, as far as I have been told by a number of agents, is able to access NCIC for all 50 states and US territories. They have limited acces, in some cases to Canada's warrant system. If if the warrant is issues in any state system they should be able to access it.

Also....isn't Calif on the standard NCIC 2000 system? I am pretty sure it is. "Dead Beat Dad" warrants are routinely entered into every state's NCIC 2000 system.
