I have a wonderful memory of being at a FlyerTalk event and punki declared, with great passion and hand gestures, that HH Diamond was "All about the free breakfasts, my dear. I am passionate about the sumptuous free buffet breakfasts at Hilton and I could never, nevah accept being Gold because of that.". Ahem.

Yes they have, there is no distincton between Diamond and Gold, and many properties are now saying it's an upgrade OR Breakfast (and it's their choice which of the 2 options you get).
This is not an issue where there is an Exec Floor, but at other locations its a big problem. I do not tend to feel that many properties make a special effort any more for Diamonds. As a consequence I will not be making a special effort to stay with them.
