Try calling BA London (or if that does not work BA in the US) and simply ask them to move you onto the flight you want. Don't bother with explanations ! Based on my experience with Lisbon, if the seats are there you can get them and what seems to count is which office is making the change, not which office issued the ticket. If you do try this, please post back the result !
