Welcome to FT!

FYI, in the upper right hand corner is a function "search this forum", using the word "Colonial" pulled up previous review of this property.

The Colonial is not that tropical, some don't like the beach but I've enjoyed my stays there.

For a VERY elegant dining experience, just walk uphill from the Hilton to the Graycliff Hotel: http://www.graycliff.com/

Another upscale dining experience is the restaurant “Sun and” but you’ll need a taxi to get here, it has an open courtyard setting.

A low key, yet delicious dining experience is the “Fish Fry”. It is a grouping of 10-13 buildings/stalls, some shacks, some done very nicely, that serve local food (lots of seafood). We took a taxi there and walked back to the Hilton. I believe the stalls are open for lunch too.

The restaurant right across from the hotel if I recall correctly is called Conch Fritters. Good cheap food (compared to the Hilton). Nice and easy to walk across the street to eat there for lunch.
