Misleading Accounting at Flying Blue
Dear All,
My telco of today with FB staff revealed the following.
According to FB staff an award ticket is reported on your Account Statement with the required miles at the date of flying as if it is a deduction (kolum 'afgeschreven' ), however, not changing the balance.
At the moment of booking the award ticket the miles are also deducted in the same colum but than affecting the balance.
I booked in the old Flying Dutchman program 8 months before departure an award flight to Mexico city and the miles where deducted at that moment.
December 26th 2005 with return flight in January 2006 I flew with my wife to Mexico city and when I checked my Mileage Account early 2006 the miles were again reported as deduction (afgeschreven).
As it is rather difficult to follow the opening and closing balance on the Internet (not shown on the monthly movement statement) it gives one the feeling that for instance your bank reports twicely on your Bank Statement your prepaid rent - onces when really paid and onces in the month for which you paid the rent).
My questions are:
Is this procedure really the thruth or is it story telling by FB? I am not anymore in the position to check whether it is true. The internet goes back only 6 months. Lufthansa M+M is much better as it goes back at least 2 years.
What on earth is the added value for a FB member to see twice the deduction of miles?
Thank you for your anwers.
Regards,
Terbang
