When I'm on a plane, I usually turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off on my PowerBook to conserve battery power but I also leave it on sleep mode in my bag. Sometimes I feel guilty about not completely turning it off but I don't think any of my flights have ever encountered any problems.
