Hmmm, now this may depend on which agent you speak to, but I thought the rule was that a <24 hr stop is fine. But a >24hr stop is charged at the higher of the stopover and destination zone?

Otherwise, check out this scenario: I want to fly CPH-BKK return, and I break it into two trips
(1) Oneway CPH-BKK (stopover) BKK-NRT (or PVG or KIX or HKG...)
(2) Oneway NRT-CPH, departing 2 hours after arrival of the outbound

Now does that cost 25+25=50? ...or 40+25=65? ...or 40+40=80?

Boy, if I had more free time, and fewer soon-to-be-Lufty(*) miles, I would definitely have done that instead of my recent zone 1 to zone 7 first class redemption...

(* scurrilous rumour)
