i got it the last time i did it last year but they told me specifically that they were just doing it in recognition of my explat status and because the plane wasnt full and i really wasn't entitled to it based on my ticket. prior to that it hadnt been questioned.
dunno if that means its getting harder but sounds like you should only try this one if you can afford to take the risk of being 'shot down'
