So can I. The better -- and easier -- thing to do would be AZ simply honor the original fare rules and allow changes in line with those rules without doing a repricing. It'll still be messy but there's not much better a solution. And it would take the pressure of AZ's country office staff and allow for the call centers to start handling things more efficiently. Of course, just because something makes sense to me doesn't mean it makes sense to the airline management.
