I think purely the Star Alliance Gold would be valuable, whoever it is issued by. Sure the consensus is you get treated better by your home airline within the alliance but *Gold is valuable in it's own right. I guess the only issue and it is a big one is if bmi drop out of Star Alliance in which case bmi Gold becomes a VS Clubhouse access card, oh but you get that with Centurion. Yep bmi Gold would be useless!

Oh and not travelling on them doesn't just go for Centurion members. I don't think anybody would want to
