From either the Fairmont or Four Seasons, you run north to the harbor and once you find the jogging trails, head west till you reach Stanley Park. There are unlimited options there. My favorite is to follow the water all the way around the peninsula and keep going until you reach the Bridge into Downtown Vancouver, then head north back to your hotel. This is a little over 5 miles. If you add on some trails in the park you'll be at 10 K in no time. Have fun. (BTW I'm sure both hotels have a jogging map.)
This is exactly what I did, starting from The Four Seasons Hotel. Thanks for the tip. It was a stunningly beautiful run.
As for the hotel, as many have noted, it is an older Four Seasons property in need of a makeover. That said, the bed and the service are classic Four Seasons -- and that is hard to beat.

Yes you're right. Fairmont YVR is a great option for a few hours sleep. It's easily walkable from immigration. (about 5-7 min indoor walk). When you reach the intl arrival hall, head up 1 level to the departure/check-in counters. Walk towards the US departure check-ins and you'll see a sign for Fairmont near the end of the check-in counters.
You'll pass by the US AC check-in counters on your way to the hotel.

The Fairmont was easy to find and easy to walk to from immigration, and certainly was one of the better airport hotels I've ever stayed in.
