Fortunately, we have medication to make the mentally ill no longer mentally ill (or to alleviate symptoms... however you want to look at it). I have no compassion for those who choose not to take their medication and then cause disruptions.
To accept the above would require defying medical understanding of various forms of mental illness and how medicine works.
In any event, I'm just glad no one got seriously hurt and that killing this mentally ill person wasn't needed.
I'm also glad that our military didn't shoot down a passenger jet again.
