I recently took a flight LAS - PHX and PHX - BDL. The ticket was purchased from USAIRWAYS but operated by America West. I was told the flight would be eligible for status miles because USairways and America West had merged and were now part of Star Alliance but did not receive the miles online. I sent in my boarding passes to Aeroplan and was told these segments were not eligible for credit. The flight segments had USAIRWAYS flight numbers. I had taken the route to LAS and was automatically credited online so it puzzles me

Can someone provide an explanation since Aeroplan isn't able to and perhaps possible ways to get the miles?
