Coronado Island (San Diego) recommendations?

Acquaintance is visiting San Diego and we are going down to visit + do dinner on Saturday. Tho my husband lived on S.D. in the 90's, we rarely have dinner in S.D., so could use some suggestions.

Hubby is thinking of picking up 'friend' (who is staying downtown) and going over to Coronado to have a drink at the Hotel Del ~~ don't know what Plan B is if the weather squashes his oceanside drink idea

Anyway, in case we end up trying to do dinner on Coronado Island, could use some suggestions. I came across the Boathouse and the Brigantine. Either of those decent?

A couple of years ago we had lunch at the Azul something or other and was very disappointed. Unless it has drastically improved, would hate to risk taking someone there.

Presume anything IN the Hotel Del is way more expensive than I want

It would certainly be nice to find something with some kind of a view....even on Harbor Island or near downtown, but isn't imperative.

Reviewed the offerings on restaurant.com, but couldn't find any decent reviews to back any of them up
