If his father was too inconsiderate to move back with his kid, it sure is not your job to do his job for him. With all the funny uncles and so forth in the world, I sure didn't leave my kid alone in Y at age 6 or 7 while I plopped my rear in F. The guy was a right prat, and you helped maintain pratliness.
