I must disagree... we were in Carcassonne in February. €5 each for the crowded Navette shuttle to the SNCF train station & then another €8-10 for a taxi to our hotel. €14 direct for a taxi directly from the airport to La Cite where we were staying.

Bournemouth - taxi to our hotel directly from the airport £15 (the airport bus stopped at the main train station which was a taxi ride from our hotel, so it was easier)

Dublin - hop on the 41a Dublin Bus service into the city leaving you on the Quays, (about €2) or pay €8 for the Aircoach shuttle dropping you directly to most major hotels as far as Bewleys Leopardstown.
