Barefoot - what about children?

I've read the posts here about going barefoot in the cabin and placing feet in inappropriate places. I agree with the general view that barefeet are unsightly, placing them too near fellow passengers is unacceptable and paddling to the bathroom barefoot is awful.

But what about children staying barefoot in their own seats? Not running about barefoot but just sitting still in their chairs? This I personally find acceptable, given they are children (under 10 years), that their legs are not enough for their feet to interfere with other passengers.

For what it is worth, I also think that slippered feet are perfectly acceptable. Many asian carriers actually provide slippers in the F and/or J cabins (eg, CX in first, JAL and ANA in J and F).

What does everyone else think?
