The 747 is a nicer flight, but there is nothing to worry. As many have say, the accident rates are not significant to get all out of shape.
A couple of years back, a lady sat next to me on a 777. When they closed the door, she went on a panic attack. We talked later and she said that is normal for her..... 30 minutes before arrival... there she went on... another panic attack. She would just cough with no end... but she said to me that was no reason for her not to fly.
I think 777s can make half a trans-Atlantic on 1 engine safely - that's how they were designed, so that if one engine went out, they could get either to their destination or back home safely. That's nothing to worry about.
I have a friend who hates flying. He says his heart rate and blood pressure always go way up whenever he's on a plane. Despite, he's done about 50 transcontinental runs (EWR-LAX) and a few trans-Atlantics. This summer he's doing EWR-HKG direct in economy. He hates it, but that's not going to stop him.
Hopefully all that helps the OP somewhat.
