Are BA's 777 and 747 safe to fly
I am a terrible flyer and it is my geatest fear. I've let my husband talk me into going overseas with BA and the choice of aircraft are either the 777 or 747.
As i'm absolutley terrified about flying, he'll let me choose what aircraft we go on. Now I'm not really clued up about aviation, but I have been looking at websites regarding these. The 777 I like as it's a newer plane although it only has two engines, which scares the H*ll out of me. Although the 747 having two more is fine - but isnt BA's fleet of 747's very old?? I've read some passenger reviews of flights on BA's 747's and some reagard the 747 being old and shabby(showing their age)
So as it stands I like the 777 because its newer, and hasnt had any fatal accidents, although it only has 2 engines.
The 747 I like becuase it has four engines, and it's size seems safe. Although it scares me as their fleet seems so old and grubby and the 747 has had alot of fatal accidents.
I know this post might seem ridiculous to you, but I need help/suggestions/re-assurance. Which one would provide me with a safe sense of environemnt and a safe arrival.
Thanks, Mary.
