The el-cheapo KA fares will be consolidator deals to BKK (which I should have said in the first place, apologies), and probably not out yet. I can ask a friend in HKG to look out who he uses if that would help. There are three other published options:

CLRTHK1 EK C Round-Trip 191.00 (GBP) View Rules View Routing
CLRT1YHK KQ C Round-Trip 215.00 (GBP) View Rules View Routing
CRTHK GF C Round-Trip 221.00 (GBP) View Rules View Routing

Which look acceptable, albeit with restricted flight times.

HKT is then an easy, cheap leap on from BKK using TG or Bangkok Airways.
