I read once where a particular, well-known distance runner was developing pain in on of his legs that was a mystery to his doctor, as to what might be causing it.

He mentioned it to his wife, and she said, "Oh, yeah...that's where I kick you to get you to stop snoring".

What O2K and others might wish to try is *coughing*, loud enough and from a close enough proximity to the snoring person that it would be clearly audible to them, if they were awake.

Very often this has the effect of causing them to alter their breathing patterns, and stop snoring.

I am advised (by a young lady of my acquaintance) that on some people (me), this technique is of temporary effectiveness, unless the snorer also happens to change position--less likely in an airplane seat than at home.
