As another sufferer of Sleep Apnea, I concur with not being embarrassed by someone waking me up, should I cut some serious logs.

However, a few months ago, I took a different approach to fix the problem by writing a letter to Vicky Escarra asking her to investigate letting people use a CPAP machine during flights. It's nothing but a small (mine fits in the seat pocket) and very quiet air compressor which requires very little power, but since it is not on the approved devices list, one cannot use it on board. Plus it needs 110 V AC, not 12v DC like a laptop. I'm sure some wizard out there knows how to take the power from those EmPower jacks using a rather small power inverter to get it to become 110 V AC.

Heck, it doesn't bother me to wear or to see people wearing a CPAP mask on a plane. This would fix the snoring problem, especially on those long (8 to 12 hours) overnight flights, and would also let the Sleep Apnea sufferers (and their seat neighbors :-) ) arrive more refreshed at their destination.

By the way, the CPAP has taught me to breathe through my nose, something most snorers don't do. So, now those catnaps on the plane are not so embarrassing.

Lastly, when I sent the note to Miss Vicky a few months ago, I got a prompt indication someone would check this out, but since then, it has been awfully quiet.
