I hope LY is not buying these aircraft. Also politically it's dumb. Like it or not the US politicians will be rightfully irritated. The excuse that it's a private company, yada, yada, yada and that Israelis buy non American cars is chutzpah and won't wash.
I think they are doing this to get a better price from Boeing.

I am a bit sick and tired about it being a chutzpa that LY might buy European. A major part of the reason that the US backs Israel and gives the aid is in the US's best strategical interest. They are not giving away Billions of dollars a year because they like our brown eyes. They need and want Israel to be a strong power and ally in the Middle East.
BTW - You are not the only one who thinks this is a move to pressurize Boeing, its practically a fact now.The only reason we might see these a/c is if Boeing just gives up, LY already paid for 2010 787 slots. I really hope that doesnt happen, I too would like to fly in 787 soon!
