They took 10k from me after I twice signed up to be a virtual walker for the Florida City of Hope event. Fair enough. However City of Hope sent me a confirmation letter acknowledging the donation and then saying that the actual value of my donation $72. And I have no way of proving that the 10k was deducted from my account because there is no journal entry on my account activity detailing this. So now I have to contact Hilton and bother them so that I can get this straightened out.

If Hilton wants to deduct points for any reason, the least they can do is post a journal entry which explains why. This practice of just deducting points from your account with no explanation is poor form and crappy customer service.
