We just came back from the Grande Bretagne, and I must say the rooms are some of the smallest that I have seen in this price category. Our two rooms were not as big as one of our rooms at Claridge's. The rooms are very well done - there is a stunning chandelier in each room. The view of the Acropolis is definitely worth paying for, although was only really available from the balcony in our case. But I couldn't help but be disappointed by the room size, especially given the very high price - and we were not in the lowest room category.

Other services at the hotel were pretty good, although they definitely could bear some improvement. We were given smoking rooms, even though we had non-smoking rooms confirmed. I will say, the rooms did not smell particularly smoky, but the hotel did not seem full, so it would have been nice if our request had been honored. The breakfast (which was included) was in a room which looked to me like a converted convention room. It was nice, and the food was pretty good, but it just somehow missed for me as it did not feel particulary special or luxurious. The service was spotty.

Athens is amazing, and I can't really recommend anything better than the GB. The location is fabulous. But I will not say that the hotel absolutely met my expectations.
