Outside of Singapore, there are quite a few islands, Bintan and Batam belonging to Indonesia, though about 1hr ferry from Singapore, and then other further islands include Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia, where you are better flying off to, rather than take a ferry. Oh, there is also Tioman island.
Trying to book a last minute lazy beach weekend trip for next weekend. Flights all over SE Asia pretty tight at the moment and not flexible with travel dates, so have to be flexible with destination. Options are boiling down to:
Sentosa, Singapore (Shangri-La) (by far the easiest to get to)
Bintan, Indonesia (one of the Bintan Resorts) is this place worth it?
Penang, Malaysia (Shangri-La) most expensive option, but looks the best.
